The AgroSoft Genetic Module is an integrated part of the AgroSoft WinPig system and is currently used at all levels of the breeding pyramid to include nucleus and multiplication farms.  In addition, the program is designed to handle data for farms using closed herd multiplication.

Based on the needs and desires of the individual breeding company, AgroSoft is able to work with several levels of integration.  This integration is achieved either through a export/import function between AgroSoft WinPig and the genetic database of the breeding company or with a full integration.

Performance testing that includes weighing pigs on test and off test can be entered directly in the Pocket Pigs program on a PDA.  Measurements for backfat can be automatically imported to WinPig from the ultrasound scanning machine.

To connect with the genetics company, data is exported from WinPig to the genetic supplier.  The genetics company processes the data for breeding value estimation.  These breeding values are imported back into WinPig where they will appear on sowcards and the availability list.

The Genetic Module also includes a customer management option, from which, orders can be created.  In addition, the program will forecast inventory available for sales.  Finally, a sales availability list will be matched with the order and when breeding animals are sold a shipment order form is created.
